Curriculum Review
The Monash Faculty of Law is in the process of reviewing the curriculum of its two admission courses, the Bachelor of Laws and the Juris Doctor.
The Monash Law Students’ Society canvassed responses to the proposals and options of the curriculum review in the following ways:
- Circulated the Faculty’s Consultation Paper to all committee members;
- Conducted an in-depth discussion of the Executive team; and
- Facilitated an online survey of undergraduate and postgraduate students, advertised in the Law Student Gazette, through Facebook and on the LSS website.
Over 200 students completed the Monash Law Students’ Society’s survey. A response to the Faculty’s Consultation was prepared by the Monash Law Students’ Society Executive team. This submission summarises the issues emerging from student responses to the survey questions and Faculty’s proposals. It was submitted to the Faculty of Law in August 2011.
The Monash Law Students’ Society maintains an active role in reviewing the curriculum through representation on Faculty Boards and Committees.
